🎲 Liar's Dice
Shake your cup, peek at your dice and bid on the whole table. Raise the stakes — or shout “Liar!”
Everyone hides dice under a cup. Shake, peek at your own dice — and guess what lies on the whole table. Lose all your dice and you are out. The last player with a cup wins.
Bidding
• On your turn, make a bid: “there are at least four 5s on the table” — counting everyone’s dice, not only yours.
• Each bid must be higher: more dice, or the same number with a higher face.
• Or don’t believe the previous bid and shout “Liar!”. All cups are lifted and the dice are counted.
• Fewer than bid — the bidder loses a die. Enough — the one who shouted loses a die.
Jokers
• With the option on, ones count as any face.
• You can’t open a round on ones. Switching to ones: half the quantity, rounded up (five 4s → three 1s). Back from ones: double plus one (three 1s → seven 4s).
Extras
• “Spot on!” (option): you claim the last bid is exactly right. If it is — you get a die back (up to the starting number). If not — you lose one.
• Last-die round (option): when someone first drops to a single die, the next round has no jokers and the face of the opening bid cannot change — only the quantity goes up.
• The loser of a die starts the next round. If time runs out, a careful automatic move is made for you.
Keep a poker face — the table can’t see your dice, but it can see your eyes!
