Roll, buy up Kraken Bay, build hotels, bargain with friends and bankrupt everyone else.

Welcome to Kraken Bay! Buy districts, collect rent, build houses and hotels — and leave everyone else broke.

Your turn

• Roll two dice and move your token clockwise. Passing the Harbor Gate pays your salary.

• Land on a free place and you may buy it. If you skip (or can’t pay), it goes to a quick auction among all players — if auctions are on.

• Land on someone else’s place and you pay rent. Mortgaged places collect nothing.

• Rolled doubles? Roll again. Three doubles in a row send you straight to the traffic jam.

Building

• Own every district of a colour and the rent doubles. Now you can build — but evenly: no district may be more than one level ahead of the others in its set.

• Four houses, then a hotel. Selling a building returns half its price.

• Short on cash? Mortgage a place for half its price (only if the set has no buildings). Buying it back costs 10% extra. Mortgaged places collect no rent.

Ferries and power stations

• Ferries: the more you own, the higher the rent (25, 50, 100). Power stations: rent is the dice total × 4, or × 10 if you own both.

Events, taxes and the traffic jam

• Event tiles draw a funny card: money, moves, fines — or a free pass out of the jam.

• Tax tiles take money. “Go to the Jam!” sends you to the Tentacle Traffic Jam.

• To get out: roll doubles, pay the fine, or use a free pass. After three failed tries you pay and move on. You still collect rent while stuck.

Deals

• Trade at any time (except during an auction): offer places, cash and passes in exchange for the other player’s. They accept or decline. Places with buildings in their set can’t be traded.

Winning

• If you can’t pay a debt even after selling and mortgaging everything, you’re bankrupt: your assets go to the one you owe (or back to the bank).

• The last player in the game wins. With a time limit, the game ends after the current turn once time is up, and the richest net worth (cash + places + buildings) wins.

• No game lasts forever: after round 30 all rents double, and double again every 10 rounds.

• The turn timer keeps the game moving: when it runs out the game rolls, skips or ends the turn for you. Offline players are played automatically.
